The Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) set out a Safe System of Work to protect employees from the inherent dangers of the electrical and mechanical equipment in wind turbines. The Rules are similar to a Lock Out-Tag out (LOTO) system – but they have been adapted to meet the particular requirements of the wind sector.
Evidence of training and authorisation to work under the WTSR is a requirement to work on most wind farms in the UK & Ireland. They are increasingly being used on international projects.
