The specification establishes a guideline for the assessment of the risks which a wind turbine may pose to the general public. It aims to facilitate a uniform scope and a uniform use of methods in wind turbine risk assessments.
The document is a bit “clunky” [not too user friendly!] and far from a standardised system – however, there are useful pointers and reminders both on the potential public safety risks, but also relevant approaches & methodologies that can be applied.
While planning/regulatory regimes will differ from country to country – there is a potential regulators, connecting authorities or pressure groups make start to refer to this standard.
